Our 2018 Entries at the Premier Bred Ewe and the Wether Dam Sale:
.jpg) |
8496 Lot 1
This ewe is real Hampy and blown apart, with a wide top and thick. She could make some nice show lambs. I like her great pattern and profile, yet she is feminine with lots of muscle. She is a granddaughter of the famous Miller the Driller. Driller stamped everything he bred. |
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
.jpg) |
8240 Lot 2
This is a daughter of Monkey Business and out of a super thick “I Pee Klean” daughter. She is hard to the touch and has a good butt like “I Pee Klean” had. She is Bred to our new Middlesworth ram that is sired by “El Chapo”. This is an exciting genetic combination that could really work well for you. |
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
.jpg) |
8214 Lot 3
This is a daughter of Bottoms Up and out of a Firestone daughter. Bottoms Up has sired Champions at the Indiana State Fair, All American Junior Show and the NAILE. Firestone was a massively thick ram. This has been a great genetic combination for me. She is really wide in her rib cage with good bone and muscle. |
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
.jpg) |
8368 Lot 4
This ewe is slightly smaller and is very complete. She is super level with a great rack. This ewe will work for show lambs. Bred to a son of Monkey Business. |
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
.jpg) |
8155 Lot 5
I like this ewe a lot. She is a super complete ewe with show ring appeal. This ewe is very level , up headed, and has plenty of muscle. She stands on good bone and is structurally correct. She will make a show ewe that looks good from the rear or the side. She has good breed character and is white fleeced. ."Boots" was a champion Suffolk Wether Sire at Sedalia from the McIlrath line. |
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
.jpg) |
8342 Lot 6
This ewe is a dark fleece ewe with a good butt. She is long necked and has show ring profile. She is a granddaughter of Firestone, one of the thickest rams we have ever raised. |
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
.jpg) |
8127 Lot 68
This ewe is thick, level, big racked and very level out through her dock. She will make a show ewe and a great brood ewe. She is well-balanced and thick. She is a granddaughter of Firekeeper on the maternal side. "TW" has made a name for himself in the Dorset world. |
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
.jpg) |
8313 Lot 69
8313 is big ribbed and sprung apart, with a wide hip and thick. She has the makings of a good brood ewe with her big rib cage. She is an easy keeping ewe with lots of potential. 3085 is a son of Slack 1075, the Dealer. Slack 1075 is a half brother to Casino. Flashcard is sired by Flash, a son of Firekeeper. |
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

_sm.png) |
Slack 5663 Lot 33
Here is a massive, thick stud ewe bred to Sicario. We are cutting loose of some powerful stud ewes this year, as I have decided to trim the flock size down after all these great years of breeding sheep. This is a tremendous opportunity to buy a Ringside ewe out of a daughter of Napoleon, bred to Sicario. What a pedigree! Due Jan. 1, 2019. |
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
_sm.png) |
3199 Lot 34
3199 is a real thick stout brood ewe. Massive in her design, she is truly a stud ewe. She is one of the three ewes that we will be offering bred to Sicario from Impact Hamps. A special thanks goes to Brian Reilly for allowing Dan Dyke and I to purchase ½ of Sicario. We bred 100 ewes to him and will sell only three ewes bred to this great stud ram as a sale attraction. She is due Jan 1. As most of you know I have a highly line bred program and have brought very few rams in over the years. That is why I am excited to introduce “Sicario” as a proven popular ram from an outstanding program. |
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
_sm.png) |
Slack 4180 Lot 35
4180 is slightly more medium in size with lots of top and hip. She is bred to “Sicario” and once again offers a good genetic package to make keeper lambs for your flock. She is a granddaughter of “Miller the Driller”. She is bred to” Sicario” and due Jan. 1. Her dam is sired by Sausage Top. This is another real solid ewe to add quality to your flock. |
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
_sm.png) |
Slack 4259 Lot 36
This is another game changing brood ewe that is an embryo flush daughter of a ewe that we have flushed several times. I like the top in this ewe and how complete her body is. She has a ton of genetic potential and is bred to “Bottoms Up”, one of the best producing rams that I have ever raised. “Bottoms Up” sired the Champion Hamp Slick Ewe in the open show at Louisville last year along with the Reserve Champion Slick Ewe in the Junior Show at Louisville. The Champion Hamp wether at the All American Junior Show in 2017 was also a son of “Bottoms Up” and the list goes on and on. She is due to lamb Dec. 30 to “Bottoms Up.” |
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
_sm.png) |
Slack 4397 Lot 37
Check out the huge body on this ewe. She is super complete and has a chance to make you a stud ram. I bred her to a son of “Bottoms Up.” We call him “Round Up.” “Round Up” is a flush ram from probably the best ewe I have. She is also the mother of “I Pee Klean”, “Trackside” and now our lead yearling ram, “Round Up.” He is covered with wool, so shag should not be an issue. |
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
_sm.png) |
Slack 5486 Lot 38
This ewe is really hard to let go of. She is a daughter of “Trackside.” “Trackside” was sired by ‘Ringside” and I used him very successfully for 2 years before selling half interest to Polly Murdock of Nebraska and Trey Brix. “Trackside” has now sired champions for them, including a “Trackside” wether that was the 4th overall pick at the Ak-sar-ben show. “Trackside” also sired the champion Hamp wether at the 2018 All American Junior Show. “Round Up” sired the Reserve Hamp at the 2018 All American Junior Show. This ewe is lined up with “Miller the Driller” on both sides. She is bred to “Round Up” and due Jan 15. There will be lots of wool on her lambs. |
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
_sm.png) |
Slack 6170 Lot 39
Suffolk breeders pay attention. This is a good one. She is bred to our lead Suffolk Ram, 7138, and due to lamb Jan 24. She is stylish with a great side profile and very correct. She could make keeper show lambs. This ewe was shown in 2016 and her mother was shown in 2014. |
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
_sm.png) |
Slack 4109 Lot 40
4109 is RRNN, thick, level and has a great hip. She is a solid Dorset ewe bred to our lead ram, 7614 “Flash Card”, a son of “Flash.” She should make show lambs, due to lamb January 19, a true stud ewe. She is a half-sister to the Champion Dorset Wether at the Indiana State Fair in 2013 for Jordyn Leininger. |
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
_sm.png) |
Slack 4212 Lot 41
4212 is a great brood ewe with big ribs, body, and capacity. She is a daughter of Short Ears that had lots of breed character and a big flat hip. He was ahead of his time in body mass and muscle. She is bred to “Fireworks”, a speckled ½ blood ram sired by Firestone. This should make an awesome show lamb for the Dorset Advantage Class. |

If you are looking for sheep that combine muscle, length, and style, please give us a call or stop at the farm. All lambs have been wormed and vaccinated for sore mouth, tetanus, overeating disease and wormed. We work hard to keep the lambs healthy before and during the sale. After the sale, you need to keep a close eye on them, make certain they accept your water and feed. Don’t forget to watch for stress or scours. Call us if you have questions. We want you to keep in touch. Email us at [email protected] or we have a page on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/groups/slackclublambs/) where you can post questions and photos. Mid West Stud Ram Sale
Sedalia, Missouri
Tom and I have talked extensively about how to handle photos. At this time we are planning to consign over 80 head and there is just so little time to photograph and process them all. We are really excited that the Midwest Stud Ram Sale committee will broadcast the show. We are hoping that the broadcast of the show will be even better than still photos for interested buyers. This is the link to dvauctions page. https://www.dvauction.com/ The show will be archived, you can watch live or later. There is no need to provide a payment method if you just want to watch. If you want to bid or buy, you need to work with the Heartland Livestock Services who are managing the sale at www.midwestsale.com . Pedigrees will be listed by breed, of the animals we have entered on the pdf. Just click on the link and it will download the 2 page document.
We appreciate your interest and hope that you are able to see the broadcast. The schedule is available at the www.midwestsale.com web site. According to Tom, we have the best group of sheep that he has ever taken to the Stud Ram Sale. Our mature stud battery is so deep, that Tom is taking rams that he normally would have put in his keeper pen. They are genetically sound and offer so much potential. We appreciate the overwhelming response and interest in our genetics. Breeders from 37 states purchased our sheep in 2015. Thanks again for your continued support of our breeding program. |

Lot 33 - Slack 5314
Tom hasn’t sold very many Trackside daughters. This is another high quality ewe stamped by Trackside. She has lots of Hamp look and is bred to Bottoms Up. Her lambs will be loaded with wool if that is what you want. She is very thick and her lambs should be show quality. She can make a flush ewe if you are interested in doing so. She is RR, Bottom’s Up is RR. The offspring will automatically be RR. Bottom’s Up sired the Champion Hamp ewe at the 2016 Indiana State Fair 4-H Show which went on to be Supreme Ewe over all breeds. He sired another ewe that was Champion Hamp ewe in the Open show at Indiana in 2016. She is definitely a flush ewe! She is a single, born in 2015, due to lamb January 11. Don't miss this one! |
Lot 34 - Slack 3142
This is a super thick ewe that is perfect on her rump. She has a high dock set and a great profile. This is a great looking ewe with tons of muscle and potential. She is a stud ewe that is bred to a phenomenal ram, Bottoms Up. She is a perfect ewe to breed to him as she brings that shot of Suffolk to her offspring that more people are recognizing is important. Her lambs should be covered with wool and Tom would recommend her to be a flush ewe. Look at her great pattern and profile. She is a twin, born in 2013, and due to lamb January 11. |
Lot 35 - Slack 1464
This is a medium sized ewe that is thick and adds a shot of Suffolk to her offspring. Tom bred her to Ringside who sires very wooly lambs, so it is a good combination. Ringside sired Bottoms Up, Trackside, and several of our high selling sheep at the Mid West Stud Ram Sale the past few years. She could make your next stud ram or keeper show ewe. She is a twin, born in 2011, and due to lamb January 27. |
Lot 36 - Slack 4607
This is a daughter of the legendary Miller the Driller. Tom bred her to Bottoms Up so her lambs will be extremely hampy and covered with wool. Her mother was sired by 8098, a ram with a huge rack. She could raise a stud ram for you. She is young and out of the heart of our program. I can’t say enough about how good Bottoms Up has been for us. His daughters were dominant in the show ring at the Indiana State Fair. She is a twin, born in 2014 and due to lamb January 25. |
Lot 37 - Slack 4390
This is another very thick ewe with big bone. She is wide in her body cavity, deep in her twist, and is extremely high hipped. Tom bred her to our popular Ringside ram to add a little more wool to her offspring. She too brings a shot of Suffolk influence to her lambs which is so important to a successful show prospect. Ringside is a Driller son who sired Bottoms Up, Trackside, and the 2nd high selling ram, plus the Record selling Hampshire ewe, at the 2015 Mid West Stud Ram Sale. The potential is great on this one. She is a twin, born in 2014 and due January 11. |
Lot 38 - Slack 4265
This is a younger Miller the Driller daughter that is really wide. Her mother was sired by a son of Rolex which was sired by Caesar. She had a lot more wool in her earlier life. She too brings a shot of Suffolk to the table which obviously is a plus. Tom bred her to the very powerful Bottoms Up ram, so the lambs should have plenty of wool. Bottoms Up sired the Champion Hamp ewe in the Indiana State Fair open show and Supreme Champion/Champion Ewe in the 4-H show at Indiana. She is a twin, born in 2014, and due to lamb January 28. |
Lot 39 - Slack 2136
This is a stout, thick, female with bone and hip. Her mother was sired by Houston, a Caesar son Tom purchased from David Garrett from Texas. He bred her to Bottoms Up so her lambs will have plenty of wool. However, she can inject that shot of Suffolk it takes to make the good ones. She is a great combination ewe with a level hip. She is a twin, born in 2012, due to lamb January 11 |
Lot 40 - Slack 3362
This is a good solid Suffolk ewe with great bone and plenty of muscle shape. She is really deep flanked and rather medium in frame score. Tom bred her to Slack 4576 for a Suffolk lamb. She could make a stud ram or some show ewes to keep as replacements. She is sired by Sausage Top (Hurk) which has been a valuable ram for us. Tom bred 35 ewes to him this year through AI. We have never sold very many of his daughters. This is a chance to purchase a stud ewe or flush prospect. She is a single, born in 2013 and due January 10. |
Lot 41 - Slack 2458
This is a very solid, good patterned thick ewe just in her prime. We likes her style and muscle. Her lambs are automatically RRNN. If you are looking for a ewe to flush, she would be the one. Her mother is a twin sister to Short Ears, another great foundation ram for the breed that Tom raised in 2009. She is a safe investment in terms of quality and consistency. She is a single, born in 2012, bred to Slack 4200 "White Hot" and due to lamb Jan 27. |
Lot 42 - Slack 4187
Tom really likes the genetic potential this ewe possesses. She is sired by our great Short Ears ram that was so thick and square. These daughters are valuable game changers for a program. Her mother has been a great producer for us and is a good milker. If you want to flush a ewe, this one would work for that and she is RR. She could raise you a stud ram. She is a twin, born in 2014, bred to Slack 4200 "White Hot", and due to lamb February 13. |
Lot 43 - Slack 0054
This ewe was shown as a yearling. Her mother was sired by a son of Caesar that Tom purchased from David Garrett. She is older, but has been a great ewe for us. She is a twin, born in 2010, proven, bred to Slack 5601, and due to lamb January 22. |
Lot 44 - Slack 4383
This ewe doesn’t have much condition on her, but don’t overlook her. She is sired by Firestone, a massively muscled sheep. If you have never seen him, you need to. He is the thickest ram that Tom has ever raised. You will hear more from him in the coming years. He also brings that shot of Suffolk to the table that so many folks desperately need. Tom bred her back to Bottoms Up– what a great combination. We will be doing more of that breeding in the coming years. Her lambs will have plenty of wool and style. She is a twin, born in 2014 and due to lamb February 12. |

Mid West Stud Ram Sale
Sedalia, Missouri
Click here to print the data on our consignment.
Tom and I have talked extensively about how to handle photos. At this time we have 65 head consigned and there is just so little time to photograph and process them all. We are really excited that the new Midwest Stud Ram Sale committee decided to broadcast the show - a first for the MWSRS. We are hoping that the broadcast of the show will be even better than still photos for those interested. Pedigrees are listed by breed, of the animals we have entered on the pdf. Just click on the link and it will download the 2 page document.
We appreciate your interest and hope that you are able to see the broadcast. The schedule is available at the www.midwestsale.com web site. According to Tom, we have the most phenomenal group of sheep that he has ever taken to the Stud Ram Sale. Our mature stud battery is so deep, that Tom is taking rams that he normally would have put in his keeper pen. They are genetically sound and offer more potential than ever before. We appreciate the overwhelming response and interest in our genetics. Breeders from 29 states have contacted us for stock just this year. Thanks again for your continued support of our breeding program.

Premier Bred Ewe Sale
November 14th • NAILE #1
Lot 35
A thick, massive ewe with Garrett on both sides of her pedigree. She is a granddaughter of Miller the Driller and a great-granddaughter of Caesar. Her mother is Lot 37. She is bred to Firestone, the thickest sheep we have ever raised. Her lambs should be impressive.

Lot 36
She is a double bred Garrett. Very thick with a big hip and top. She is bred to Shot. If you haven’t seen this ram, you need to. He is extremely wide and dead level.
Lot 37
Another big thick hipped ewe that has Garrett on both sides. She is the mother of Lot 35 and bred this time to Ringside, a son of Miller the Driller. This ram sired the 1st place February Hamp ram at Sedalia that sold for $10,000. He also sired the Reserve Champion Hampshire ewe at the Indiana State Fair 4-H Show. Ringside is a great one, you need to see him
Lot 38
9463 is sired by Slack 5188. She is bred to Shot who is the ½ brother to the record selling Champion Suffolk Ewe at Sedalia that sold for $20,000. This is a solid ewe with great potential.

Lot 39
This is a Boots daughter. Boots was Champion Suffolk ram at Sedalia in 2010 that sold for $11,500. She is a granddaughter of Caesar. She is bred to Firestone who is a great-grandson of Miller the Driller.

Lot 40
This is a slightly bigger Suffolk ewe that is ideal for the tweener Suffolk game. She has good breed character and is bred to Shot. What a combination! Hard to find!
Lot 41
This is a slightly taller Suffolk ewe that is two years old. He is sired by Hammer, the ram that we sold ½ interest to in the spring to MacCauley Suffolks. She is bred to Shot. This could be awesome muscle on a slightly bigger frame.
Lot 42
This is a trendy medium size RR young Dorset ewe. She is as thick as they come and very square. She is dead level off the rump and bred to our lead yearling ram that is the thickest Dorset I have ever raised. He is a great one with a perfect rump. If she has a ram you could easily have your next stud buck that will be RR.
Lot 43
This ewe is bred to the most fault free Dorset ram I have ever raised. 4200 is a Short Ears son that we bred 30 ewes to, he was easily the best ram lamb we raised this year, also a Short Ears son.

Lot 44
If you are into Specks, this is a nice RR ewe. She is bred to a light colored Hamp ram that is real thick and level. His twin sister was Reserve Champion Hampshire ewe at the Indiana State Fair 4-H ewe show. 2302 is a Short Ears daughter bred back to a cool shaggy Hamp ram.

Comments: Firestone combines the top bloodlines of Miller the Driller ( great grandsire) and Total Blast (great grandsire). Codon: RR
Sex: Ewe
Breed: Cross
Sire: Miller the Driller
Dam: Slack 1214
Born: Jan. 2014
Comments: Miller the Driller needs no introduction. He's one of the most dominant sires ever in the Hampshire breed. This ewe lamb is great bodied, with super shape and hard muscled. She's got plenty of bone to go with that shag. She will not disappoint you with her show ring appeal. This is also a solid maternal line, she will be a great female for any flock. |

Comments: Can you say shape? That's the best word to describe this guy. He's big hipped, strong topped and stout. He's upfronted and will just continue to get better and better. He will be a fun wether to feed, show and get you to the top. |

Born: Jan. 2014
Comments: Slack 3171 ( I Pee Kleen) is a grandson of Miller the Driller from 2013 that caused quite a ruckus when we posted his picture on our website. Breeders from coast to coast commented on how massive muscled and square he was. Her grandsire is Ignite (Garrett bred) that was the Champion Commercial Ram at the 2010 Indiana State Fair. This gal combines the best of Slack, Miller & Garrett genetics. She's great lined with tons of shape and muscle |

Comments: Miller the Driller stamps 'em with bone, muscle and style to burn. When you add Foundation on the dam side, you get pattern and length. You won't be puzzled when you put this guy's pieces together, they all drive toward that purple ribbon. His pictures just don't do him justice. If you want to run with a shaggy spec wether this summer, you need this guy in your barn. |

Our 2013 Mid West Stud Ram Sale Champion Dorset Wether Dam was sired by Foundation and out of the twin to 9120. To color her genetics even more purple, Foundation sired the Champion Dorset wether at the 2011 Indiana State Fair and Reserve Champion Dorset wether in 2012. Can you see Champion written all over this gal's pedigree? What a stellar family line! She's not only show worthy, she will make an outstanding breeding ewe for any flock. If you raise Dorsets, you will want to own this one. |
